backyard campout

Joe went to help his brother move from Omaha NE to Lubbock TX this wknd and since the weather was so beautiful I thought it would be fun to try sleeping out on the trampoline with the boys.
It actually went pretty well.

Here are the kids starting to get ready...
They first had popcorn and a movie out there.
Then I joined them. It didn't start to get dark until after 9 but we had fun singing songs and watching the planes nearby. Not sure I will do it again anytime soon but it was pretty fun.

one recipe

So I figure when you know a dang good recipe... well, you should stick with it! right?!
(Well, in our case we have little choice but anyway...) I guess we vary a bit within this same recipe but still tend to end up with amazing results each time we try it!

We are expecting our 4th son in early October!

"the lounger!"

We are thrilled to say that everything is looking great with 'him' so far and we don't really have any concerns at this point so we couldn't be happier about that!!

Waiting to find out what the gender will be is never an option in our home... we find out as soon as they let us! This time however, we did it a bit different and asked our sonographer to put the gender results in a card and seal it so that we could bring the news home to share with the boys who were just as excited to find out. I am sure in a way the guy was relieved he didn't have to tell us this news in person ;0)

When Wakely read the news I think that joe and i were both in a bit of shock. Honestly, I was just fine with it (may have been the shock?). Joe was just speechless. That evening we had friends over for ice cream sundaes to share the news ~ they had to wait to find out until i topped my sundae!!
The next day or two I will admit I came down with a bit of the blues as it all sunk in. I am just not thinking that this recipe will ever be attempted again in our family. I know that these feelings will fade as they are starting to already as we get excited for this boy to come and delight and amaze and bless our lives as our three others have done!!

RSS feed reader

So, unless you use something like google reader to keep track of the blogs you read I thought I would make mention that on occasion you might want to scroll through the last few months of my blog. You see, I like to keep the date stamp the same as when it occurred and I have a bad bad habit of starting blogs that I don't quite finish and then randomly go back and complete them. {Sometimes it's just that I will type the title of a blog so that when I have the time I can come back and remember what it is I wanted to blog about!} anyway...
